More Than Just A Thrift Store

While Barkin’ Basement is an essential and critical fundraiser for Fuzzy Friends Rescue it has had a special place in the Waco community since opening September 2001. Its primary function is to accept all kinds of items from donors that may be resold in the 30,000 sq. foot store. The sales proceeds go towards assisting to meet the needs at Fuzzy Friends Rescue, a No-Kill animal shelter. It is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization.

We receive a variety of items and offer them to you at bargain prices. You can expect to find clothing for the whole family, exercise equipment, household goods, books, and much more!

If you're looking to clear out some of the clutter from your home, think of us first! We can pick up leftovers from your yard sales, to save you the trouble of putting your unwanted items back in your garage or making a trip to the landfill. Are you a graduating college student, or in the military and relocating to a new assignment? A donation of your unwanted items to us will simplify your move--you'll have less to cart to your next destination, or more space freed up in your storage unit! You can drop by the Barkin' Basement in person to drop off your items, or you can call us at 254-752-9988 to schedule a pick up right at your home!

There is camaraderie from most donors and shoppers alike that we are here to help the animals at Fuzzy Friends Rescue to have a quality life until they can be found a loving home. As a secondary objective, Barkin’ Basement also is networking with Family Abuse, Red Cross, Friends for Life, and Mission Waco. We have helped many abused families start anew, as well as, the Senior disabled and families that have lost their homes due to fire.
