Adoption FAQ

Each animal is priced individually.
Please see the individual pet’s FFR listing for the adoption fee for that animal.

No animal is more valuable than any other. The difference in fees is to help us cover the expense of caring for the younger animals since they require more vaccinations and medical expense than a lot of the adult animals. Also, the older animals are often over looked and the reduction in their fee will hopefully help place them in homes so they can live out their retirement years being loved in a home environment.

ALL adoption fees include: any vaccinations that are given from incoming date to adoption date, heartworm test on dogs over 6 months old, Feline Leukemia Test/FIV test on all cats and kittens, spay or neuter surgery, microchip and microchip registration and any other medical procedure performed prior to adoption. (Such as heartworm treatment, de-worming etc.) .) Also includes a personalized ID tag for dogs or a Hide, Perch & Go box for cats.

IN ORDER TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL, you must:
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Have legal identification with your current address
• Be able to verify that you can have a pet where
you live if you rent or proof that you own your home.

After your complete an adoption application, it is sent to our review board, this process takes about 1-2 business days. If approved, you will be asked to come back to the facility to complete the formal adoption process.

Understand that FUZZY FRIENDS RESCUE reserves the right to deny an adoption for any reason.

The national average indicates that only one in ten animals remains with its adoptive family for life. That is a staggering and unacceptable statistic. The remaining nine get tossed around through multiple homes, taken to the pound, lost, or worse.

At Fuzzy Friends Rescue we make every effort to place the right animal in the right home. Our trained staff members will help you select the best match for your lifestyle. When you arrive at our facility, you will be greeted by someone to assist you. Next you will have the opportunity to look at all the available animals. After your selection, you will go to the “Get Acquainted Room.” There you will spend some private time getting to know the animal. If you decide the animal is right for your family, you will then complete an adoption application. If your application is approved you will be given an adoption contract to read and sign.

Is my new animal friend guaranteed healthy?
No one can predict when an animal will get sick. Generally, only animals that appear healthy and that appear free of any symptoms are shown for adoption. We do have some special needs animals that are available for adoption and any known temporary or permanent ailments or conditions will be fully disclosed.
